A Cruise to See Rome

December 25th, 2012

I have been in love with the idea of going to Rome ever since I was a young girl. To me, it was always just one of those things that I dreamed of but never imagined happening. When my husband gave me an envelope for our fifth wedding anniversary, I figured it was just a nice card with perhaps a dining certificate in it. Was I ever wrong though! Inside were two tickets for Cunard Cruises. Even better than that, they were tickets for one of their Mediterranean cruises that was centered around Rome.

All those years that I had dreamed of visiting the Sistine Chapel to see Michelangelo’s work, the Colosseum and the Catacombs. I would be able to see the Vatican and not only look at the Trevi Fountain, but throw a coin or two in it as well. To me, this was the best gift anyone could have given me. Seeing the World on My Own

December 10th, 2012

... desktops, background, snowflake, white, wallpapers, keyword - 650007I have been on a european tour years ago and I really loved it. I spend so much time seeing the things that I had only seen in movies and read about in books and found it to be more enjoyable than I ever could have thought travel would be.

Since my first tour nearly twenty years ago, I have been on many other tours of different countries and areas around the world. I think that one of my favorite trips has to have been the trip that I took to the Philippines with a group from my church. We got to go and see what the missionaries that we had funded for so many years have accomplished in the area.

I have accumulated so many great photos of places around the world and have become addicted to travel to any new destination. Read the rest of this entry »

Archanes Greece for the Perfect Vacation

September 26th, 2012

Ever since I was in high school I have dreamt about going to Archanes Greece or staying in gorgeous heraklion villas. I had to do a report on the city and was blown away by the architecture and the culture that was in the area. For my graduation, I was given cash from many of my relatives that I put away in a savings account that I hoped to use to pay for my trip when I graduated from college.

It has been six years since high school graduation and two years since I graduated from college. I finally have myself in a situation in which I can take some time away from work and go see the sights of archanes Greece. I am working on making all of the arrangements and figuring out when the best time to travel there would be. I want to be sure to plan out every detail with precise information so that I am not stuck somewhere that I do not want to be missing out on what I want to see.

Thankfully, I have found a great deal of information and have been able to do quite well with the planning. I have even found a friend that is willing to go with me. I was going to go by myself, but getting to enjoy it all with a person that I love will make it all that much better. We will be staying in a small villa with a beautiful pool, so when we are not out checking everything out, we can soak in the cool water of the crystal clear pool.

I think that this is the trip that was worth waiting so many years for. I now have the money to spend while I am there and appreciate the fact that I get to go on my perfect vacation.

Just Got to the Royal Mulu Resort in Sarawak

August 12th, 2012

Until I got this assignment I was not really aware that Malaysia was partially on the island of Borneo as well as on the Malay Peninsula. This morning I took a commuter plane from Miri to Mulu. It was not that bad and I was relieved to get back on the ground. I travel to a lot of places where the air service is spotty and I have been on a lot of really rough flights in little commuter planes. It seemed like MASwings is a pretty solid and well run airline. I did my research on them. I have been on African airlines and that has led me to be extremely wary about getting onto airlines outside of the developed world.
