Tarlac City Public Market

A wide variety of items are available such as fresh vegetables, an assortment of fresh meat, fish, poultry, fruits, flowers, plants, clothes and clothing material. You will also find native products and handicraft such as baskets, woodcarving, and locally made jewelry.

The market is a busy and a noisy place. Starting early at dawn until sunset, deliveries are being made to different stalls and stores inside the market. Customers just continue to arrive and shop. There are always customers bargaining with vendors over the price of an item. And there are vendors trying to attract the attention of customers.

In the market you get to see a more interesting variety of inexpensive items being sold and how vendors sell these to their customers.

From the province of Pangasinan, "bucayo" and "bagoong" may also be purchased. There are other products and handicrafts sold at the public market, which are brought in from other nearby provinces.

Also, there are "carinderias" or small food chains serving delicious and inexpensive native delicacies. Different native food choices are available and these include favorite dishes from the Ilocos and Tagalog regions, Pangasinan, Pampanga, and others. These carinderias are patronized by most of the market vendors, people who work in the market, and some of the local people.
